Finding Annie is based in Melbourne, Australia and is therefore ideally positioned to research Australian families, particularly those with roots in the state of Victoria. Our experience extends to other Australian states and the British Isles.

While each research project is unique, our clients can typically expect:

  • An initial discussion to understand the scope of the research required and whether results are likely achievable.
  • A face-to-face meeting (either in person or via video-conference) to determine specific goals and review existing knowledge.
  • An exhaustive search for and interpretation of a wide variety of records including (but not limited to) official birth, death and marriage registries; national and state archives; cemetery registers; historical newspapers; census records and electoral rolls; shipping records; and online repository aggregators.
  • Regular communication to report progress and verify findings.
  • Family tree chart in digital format recorded on a reputable online genealogy website (usually Ancestry).
  • Detailed report including sources used to verify each record and event.
  • Image library of digitised records and items of interest (for example, newspaper articles).
